Visitor Pass Options

The Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau) Road Zone, including Munurru (King Edward River) and Mertens Campgrounds, is OPEN for the season.

The best time to visit Wunambal Gaambera Country is April to October (Dry Season): Ngauwudu UVPs will only be issued for this period. Bushwalker passes will only be issued for travel July to October and for travellers who hold adequate insurance in case of a helicopter rescue. Submit insurance documents to infouvp@wunambalgaambera.org.au  when you purchase your UVP. 

Wunambal Gaambera people welcome children to our Country. Children 5 years and younger do not require a UVP.

There is no public internet/phone access on Wunambal Gaambera Country. It is important to download/print all relevant passes, maps, guides and information BEFORE travel.

You are required to enter your proposed arrival date in Wunambal Gaambera Country when purchasing a UVP. Your pass will be valid from this date.

Bushwalkers check our Terms and Conditions and Bushwalking Corridors before purchasing UVP. Ensure you have adequate insurance in case of a helicopter rescue.

COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES

Following the ease of public health and social measures in 2022, Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners along with Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation (WGAC) will no longer be asking for proof of COVID vaccination upon entry to Wunambal Gaambera Country and when purchasing an Uunguu Visitor Pass (UVP).

Our priority is to keep our people and our country healthy. We strongly recommend all visitors are vaccinated. We ask that any unvaccinated visitors who are engaging with Traditional Owners at any of our Visitor Locations, on a guided tour or in a vehicle, to please wear a mask.
